Metformin treatment of hypothalamic obesity: the lesson of two cases

Introduction: Hypothalamic obesity is defined as a syndrome of intractable weight gain as a result of hypothalamic lesions. Craniopharyngioma is responsible for more than half of the cases of hypothalamic obesity, but other pathologies can be implied. The syndrome can occur due to the tumour itself or its treatment (surgery or radiotherapy).
